Lateral Nuclear Group - Dorsal Thalamus

 Lateral Nuclear Group

The lateral nuclei form the dorsal tier of the lateroventral nuclear complex. Neither of the two lateral nuclei, the lateral dorsal nu-cleus (A1) and the lateral posterior nu-cleus (A2), receives any extrathalamicinput; they are connected only with other thalamic nuclei and are therefore viewed as integration nuclei. They send their efferentfibers to the parietal lobe (A3).
